Cutest Tiny Frogs

Last month as we started to prepare the plants for winter, we noticed some cute tiny green frogs snuggled in two of our pineapple plants.  We watched these plants for a couple of weeks and as near as we could tell the frogs would snuggle into the plants during the day and go hunting at night.  When we checked first thing in the mourning, the frogs were not in the plants but several hours later they were.

Elephant Ear Freeze

The Elephant Ears look even worse than the Croton after the early November freeze.  Interestingly the first picture has two leaves still standing while the rest have wilted.  Those leaves wilted the next day so it just took them a little longer.

Croton Hates Early Freeze

This year we only brought in one of our giant Croton plants and the one that stayed outside took a real beating when we had an early freeze.  Meanwhile the one that came inside is looking great sitting in front of the fireplace.  We cut back the one that stayed outside and put it in the garage for the rest of the winter.  We'll see if it comes back next spring.
