Pineapple Update August

With Hurricane Irene moving in our direction, we had to move all the plants outside to safer locations. Our prized pineapple got to move into the house for ultimate safety. Here it is with the only grapefruit tree to get the same inside treatment. The rest of the plants either moved to the greenhouse or up close to the house. The closeup of the pineapple shows how much it has grown. It is now 10 inches top to bottom. I don't know how long the stem can continue to support it as it must be getting pretty heavy.
